Yorkshire Building Society cuts five-year 95% LTV purchase rate by 0.50 points to 5.79%
Yorkshire Building Society cut rates across its range on 8 October, by up to 0.50 percentage points on five-year fixes for buyers with a 5% deposit, taking its 95% LTV deal from 6.29% to 5.79% with a £1,495 fee. Its five-year 75% LTV deal fell from 5.07% to 4.97%, and selected remortgage rates fell by up to 0.29 points. Lenders reprice like this when funding costs ease or they want volume, and the biggest cut landing on the highest-LTV product matters most for first-time buyers with small deposits, whose monthly payments fall most. Even at 5.79%, a 95% LTV loan stays expensive, and cuts of this size do little for sellers until more buyers can qualify.
