UK house price growth slows to 0.9% in the year to July as southern England slips into falls
Zoopla put annual UK house price growth at 0.9% in the year to July, down from 1.3% a month earlier, with the average home at £272,800. Fewer agreed sales and stretched affordability are capping growth, and the split is now geographic: the North West is up 3.1% and Northern Ireland 5.4%, while London is down 1.0% and the South East 0.3%. For southern sellers that means pricing to today's market rather than last year's comparables; for buyers there, more room to negotiate. This is growth slowing, not a correction.
