Ex-rental homes fall to 9.2% of June sale listings as landlords turn net buyers

Hamptons data published on 13 July shows homes listed by landlords fell to 9.2% of sale listings in June, from 11.3% a year earlier. Landlords bought 10.2% of homes, outbuying their selling for the first time since 2019. The Renters' Rights Act's 12-month re-letting ban has made selling riskier, so more are holding. For sellers, slightly less competing stock; for buyers, fewer ex-rental homes to choose from. A modest shift in flow, not a supply shock.
