Fewer than a third of new builds are priced under £300,000, Zoopla finds
Zoopla's analysis shows 41% of first-time buyer enquiries target two-bedroom homes against 20% of available supply, while over 20% of new homes have four or more bedrooms versus 10% of first-time buyer demand. That mismatch matters because an equity-loan scheme only helps if builders deliver the sizes and prices first-time buyers want. For buyers, entry-level choice stays thin; for sellers of smaller homes, demand may hold up. Price caps arrive at the 28 October Budget.
