78% of estate agents expect below-normal summer activity as hot weather hits viewings

A GetAgent survey published 25 August found 78% of estate agents expect this summer's activity to run below normal holiday levels, and 91% said prolonged hot weather had dampened their local market. Viewings took the biggest hit, cited by 53% of agents. For buyers, thinner viewing lists mean less competition on well-priced homes; for sellers, it argues for realistic pricing rather than waiting for autumn. This is agent sentiment rather than completed-sales data.
