Does kerb appeal actually matter for selling?

Yes. The first photo most buyers see on Rightmove or Zoopla is the front of the house. If that photo does not make them click through, nothing else in the listing gets seen. The first photo is also typically the only one that ends up in print brochures and social shares.

How much should I spend on kerb appeal?

Most of the highest-impact items cost under 30 pounds each: paint for the front door, planters, bulbs, a new doormat. Power-washing a driveway is around 50 to 100 pounds for a professional, free if you own or borrow a machine.
