RICS May survey: new buyer enquiries stop falling for the first time since January
RICS's May Residential Market Survey, published 11 June, shows new buyer enquiries held flat for the first time since January, while sales and prices continue to fall at a slowing pace. Cost-of-living pressure linked to global events is still suppressing demand, but the levelling-off hints at early stabilisation. For sellers, realistic pricing still wins in a market with plentiful choice; for buyers, negotiating room remains. Most surveyors still expect sales to decline in the coming months.
