When can I get the keys to my new house?
Once funds have transferred to the seller's solicitor. The transfer typically completes between 11am and 4pm, with average around 1pm to 2pm. Your solicitor calls you when it is done; you collect keys from the estate agent.
What if completion is delayed?
UK completions can run late, especially on Fridays. Banks process funds in batches, sometimes after 4pm. Removal companies typically include up to 2 hours of waiting. If completion has not happened by 5pm, push to the next morning rather than moving in the dark.
