Frequently asked
How much should I declutter before selling?
Aim for 20 to 30 percent less visible stuff in every room. Cupboards and wardrobes should look two-thirds full, not stuffed. Surfaces should hold two or three deliberate items, not piles.
Where do I put the stuff I am keeping but want out of sight?
If it is seasonal or sentimental, a labelled box in the loft or garage. If the loft is also being decluttered, a self-storage unit for the duration of the sale is around 50 to 150 pounds a month for a small unit.
